Candidates who have passed in Bachelor’s Degree in
Agriculture, Horticulture or
Forestry from a recognized University with a minimum OGPA
6.5 in 10 point scale and at least 60% marks in Higher Secondary or equivalent
examination may apply for admission. The minimum OGPA and marks for SC/ST/P.H.
candidates are 6.00 and 50% respectively. Candidates who have passed in
Bachelors Degree with at least 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH) under
traditional system may also apply. The candidates intending to apply for
more than one discipline shall have to submit separate application forms.
Prescribed application forms and prospectus may be obtained from the Dy-Registrar’s
office(Admission Section) on all working days on payment of Rs. 300/- (Rs.75/- for SC/ST category candidates) by cash or in the form of a
Bank draft. The application form may also be obtained by sending a
self-addressed envelope ( 10”x 6”) with postage stamp of Rs. 20/-along
with the Bank draft drawn in favour of "Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya"
payable at Cooch behar.

The forms complete in all respect , are to reach the Office
of Dy. Registrar, UBKV, Pundibari, Dist. Cooch Behar - 736165 before the last
date. Merit list of candidates will be published on this website. The University reserves the
right not to admit any candidate, if so decided by the Admission Committee.

Synopsis
|
|
Academic programme of the Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya both U.G., P.G. and
Doctoral Degree level are conducted by course and credit system of instruction of Two Semesters in a year normally
from August to January and February to July. The instructional programmes
in the university are being operated under Faculty of Agriculture and
Faculty of Horticulture. Besides there have also been provisions of
conducting inter-institutional inter Faculty and inter disciplinary post
graduate level instruction and advanced research under nine centres of advanced studies to be built
up gradually.
The Faculty of Agriculture comprises of 10(Ten) departments and Faculty of
Horticulture comprises of 5 (five) departments. In this academic session
(2005 – 2006). M. Sc(Ag.) courses will be conducted in 6 (six)
departments viz. Agronomy, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agril. Entomology, Plant Pathology, Soil Science and Agril. Chem. and Agril.
Economics; and in the Faculty of Horticulture, the departments are
vegetables and Spices Crops, Plantation crops & processing, Forestry and
Pomology & Post Harvest Technology – respectively.
