Applications are invited from Indian citizens for filling up the following posts under ICAR funded for Krishi Vignan Kendras (KVKs) of Cooch Behar, Dakshin Dinajpur, Malda and Darjeeling districts. The posts are purely temporary and will continue as long as the KVKs will be funded by ICAR.

1. PhD in Agricultural Extension/ Agronomy.

2. Five years’ experience (excluding the period spent for obtaining the PhD degree) in teaching/ research/ extension education in the scale of pay Rs. 8,000-13,500/- or in equivalent position.

1. Experience of working in KVK
2. Knowledge of agricultural situation and problems of farmers of the state.

1^st or high 2^nd class M.Sc. (Ag)/ M.Sc.(Hort) in Agronomy/Horticulture/Plant Protection or Agricultural Entomology or Plant Pathology for the post of a, b, and c.

1^st or high 2^nd class M.Sc.(Ag)./M.Sc./ M. Tech. in Genetics & Plant Breeding or Seed Science & Technology or Plant Physiology/Soil Science or Soil & Water Conservation or Agricultural Engineering for d and e.

For f and g, 1^st or high 2^nd class Master degree in the subjects.

1. Doctoral degree in the subject
2. Two years’ experience in KVK or extension/research organisation.

1. Passed H.S. or equivalent with a certificate of stenography (@100/40 words/minute) from a recognised institute.
2. Experience of Computer Operation.

1. Matriculate with a driving license.
2. At least 5 years’ experience of driving small and heavy vehicles with knowledge in mechanics of vehicles.

      University reserves the right to alter/modify any condition at any stage and shall not make any guarantee for absorption in any other posts in the event of withdrawal of KVKs by ICAR. Already employed persons should apply through proper channel. No. T.A./D.A. will be paid for attending the interview, and / or aptitude test as to be held for the purpose. Reservation for SC/ST, OBC and PH candidate shall be maintained as per Government rules subject to availability of suitable candidates. On basis of records/testimonials, selection may be done in absentia in case of internal candidates if the candidate is in abroad and unable to appear before the selection committee. Candidates, already applied in response to UBKV/Rect/03/2003 for the post of Home Science need not apply.

Interested candidates are to apply in the following format along with enclosures and a bank draft of Rs. 300/- for the post at Sl. No. 1, Rs. 200/- for Sl. No. 2 and Rs. 150 for Sl. No. 3 to 10 respectively, drawn in favour of "Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya", at State Bank of India, Cooch Behar. SC/ST candidates are to pay ¼ (one fourth) of above stated application fees. The filled in application form shall have to reach the Registrar (Recruitment Section) within 30 (thirty) days from the date of this advertisement. Mere possession of the minimum qualifications shall not make an applicant entitled to be called for interview/ aptitude test. Application, incomplete in any respect, will be rejected.

With reference to Advt. No. UBKV/Rect./01/2004 dated 28.05.2004 the following  are notified for all concerned.

Training  Associate  (Published under Sl.No.2) : The Sl. No. for Agronomy is to be read as ‘a’ in place of 3. At the end of (g) Animal Science (4), read “and (h) Fisheries (1)”. EQ for the posts at Sl. No. d and e under 2 shall be read as 1^st or high 2^nd class M.Sc(Ag) in Genetics & Plant Breeding or Seed Science & Technology or M.Sc(Ag)/M.Sc in Plant Physiology and M.Sc(Ag.) in Soil Science or Soil & Water conservation or M. Tech. In Agril Engineering with specialisation in Soil & Water Conservation respectively, in Place of the qualifications as erroneously published. For the post of h the EQ shall be 1^st or high 2^nd class Masters Degree in Fisheries Sciences.  

            Training Assistant : EQ : Read B.Sc (Home Science) along with the Other qualifications published earlier. 

            For all category of posts age will be relaxed for highly qualified and experienced candidates.  

            The number of posts for any category may increase / decrease. The last date for submission of application is extended up to 14.07.2004 in place of the earlier date. All other conditions as published earlier shall remain unaltered.
