    Applications in prescribed forms are invited from Indian Nationals for filling up the following Officer Posts of Director of Research, Director of Extension Education & Director of Farms for UBKV in the scale of pay of Rs.16,400 -450- 20,900 -500- 22,400/- plus other admissible allowances as per University norms. Advance increment up to five in number may be allowed for exceptionally qualified/ experienced candidates. :-

Director of Research (Post-1)

Essential Qualification (E.Q.) :~ (i) Consistently good academic record with 1st class or high 2nd class Master’s Degree in Agriculture or Horticulture or equivalent recognized qualification, (ii) A Ph.D. Degree in Agricultural Science or any of the Sciences basic to Agriculture, (iii) 10 years’ experience of research in any branch of Agriculture/Horticulture as evidenced by publications in Standard Journals, (iv) Evidence of ability to plan, organize, guide and administer research activity, (v) At least 5 years’ experience as chief of any research organization/ multidisciplinary research project or as the Head of the Department in any institute (National / State / University level) where research forms one of the major activities. Desirable Qualification (D.Q.) :~ (i) Experience of teaching, (ii) Experience in Extension work in Agriculture and /or in Allied Science, (iii) Experience in academic administration. In case of exceptionally qualified and experienced candidates, administrative experience pertaining to essential qualification may be relaxed.

Scale of Pay : Rs.16,400-450-20,900-500-22,400/- Age : Below 55 years as on 01.01.2005 However, the upper age limit may be relaxed for exceptionally qualified & experienced candidates.

Director of Extension Education (Post-1)

Essential Qualification (E.Q.) :~ (i) Consistently good academic record with 1st or high 2nd class Master’s Degree in Agriculture or Allied Science, (ii) A Doctoral Degree in relevant subject, (iii) 10 years’ experience in planning of extension education activities in the broad field of Agriculture, organizing projects for adoption of Agricultural Technologies with good leadership ability and understanding of the problems of the farmers, (iv) At least 5 years’ experience as chief of an organization/ a technology transfer unit or as the Head of the Department of an Institute where technology transfer programme forms a major activity. Preference will be given to a candidate having a Ph.D. Degree in Extension Education. Desirable Qualification (D.Q.) :~ (i) Experience of teaching, (ii) Experience in research in Agriculture or Allied Science, (iii) Experience in academic administration.

Director of Farms (Post-1)

Essential Qualification (E.Q.) :~ (i) Uniformly good academic career with at least Master's Degree in Crop Science or equivalent recognized qualification, (ii) At least 10 years' experience in the management of farms in senior administrative position, (iii) Knowledge of Agricultural conditions in the country preferably in the State of West Bengal, Desirable Qualification (D.Q.) :~ (i) A Doctoral Degree or equivalent publications in Agricultural and Allied subject, (ii) Proven capacity of leadership in organization and/or management of large size State or University Farms.

Scale of Pay : Rs.16,400-450-20,900-500-22,400/- Age : Below 55 years as on 01.01.2005 However, the upper age limit may be relaxed for exceptionally qualified & experienced candidates.

     The University reserves the right not to fill up any of the posts. Employed person should apply through proper channel. No. T.A & D.A shall be admissible for appearing in interview. On the basis of records/testimonials selection may be done in absentia in case of internal candidate, if the candidate is abroad/unable to appear before selection committee and approach is made to the University in that regard. Persons who have already applied in response to Advt. No. UBKV/Rect/03/2003 need not apply for the post of Director of Extension Education.

     Application forms may be obtainable from the office of the Registrar (Recruitment Section) either personally on any working day between 12-16 hours or by sending a self addressed stamped (of Rs. 5/-) envelop (20 cm x 11 cm.) and on payment of Rs. 400/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST candidates) as non-refundable application fee in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya” payable at Cooch Behar, West Bengal.     The filled in application forms shall have to reach the Registrar’s office (Recruitment Section) by 28.8.05. However, in case of candidate from abroad and outside the state, the last date is 10.9.05.

     Mere possession of the minimum qualifications shall not make an applicant entitled to be called for interview. Application incomplete in any respect will be rejected.
